Check out our documentary from earlier this year:
This opportunity is open to 30 young people who want to learn to play brass instruments in a fun, friendly and unique way.
I’ve never played before, can I still join?
Of course! Whether you are an experienced player or complete beginner anyone, can join the Incredible Plastic Brass Band!
When is the band starting?
The band will begin rehearsals on Thursday September 8th 2016 and will continue each week during term-time.
Where are the sessions?
The band will rehearse at the Vale The Vale, Mossley.
I’m older than 12, can I still be involved.
YES! We will have several places available for older and more experienced young people who would like to join the group. Contact us for more information.
What about the qualification?
By taking part in the project you will have the opportunity to achieve an Arts Award accredited by Trinity College London.
It can sometimes be difficult to take the first step, walk through a new door, and try something different.
But if you do, The Incredible Plastic Street Band will give you the chance to:
Enjoy weekly musical tuition with experienced tutors who are ready to share their skills, time, and enthusiasm with you.
Push yourself by learning something completely new, discover hidden talents, or extend your existing musical skills.
Help to develop a new music-centred local community, pioneered by you and others like you.
Create, improvise and collaborate on your own music for public appearances in local parades, events and carnivals.
Find a sense of belonging and connection with other people and make friends for life.
What if I haven’t got much experience?
There is something for everyone (whether a complete beginner or an experienced musician). The exciting added aspect is creating the blend of new faces and new music, and so anyone aged 5-12 (and some places for older musicians) with a passion for making music is welcome to sign up for our new ensemble; just bring your raw enthusiasm!
